  NAMES.		REGT. 			FOR WHAT REASONS STOPPED.

George Phillips		7th	George Phillips died in April, 1781, some per
				 son, assuming the name, received this in 1783.
Thos. Peacock		7th	he was killed the 8th Sept., 1781, John Dove
				 received his Depreciation as if alive, in June,
				 1783.
John Pennington		3rd	not regularly mustered or discharged.
John Radley		4th	he was hanged for exciting a Mutiny, this was
				  rec'd in 1783 by some person assuming his
				  name, the Widow of Radley now claims what
				  was due to her husband.
Robt. Smith		German	he was a Recruit after August, 1780, and deserted
				  in 1781.
Jas. Stillwell		5th	not found on any of the Musters of the Maryland
				 Quota of Continental Troops.
Jereh. Sullivan		6th	not on any of the Musters of the Maryland Line.
Wm. Townsend		7th	delivered to John Dove-another Wm. Town
				  send who was entitled had rec'd Depreciation,
				  this man was not entitled.
Wm. Whipple		7th	received by John Dove in the manner described
				  in the case of Abel Arman.
George Wilson		5th	issued twice, as supposing there were two of the
				  same name, which, upon examination with the
				  Musters did not turn out to be the Case.
Edward White		2nd		ditto,		ditto,		ditto.
Richd. White		1st	not found on any Musters.

   List of Certificates for Depreciation of Pay fraudulently obtained
by Soldiers of the Seven Maryland Regiments.


   List of Depreciation Certificates which have been fraudulently
obtained, the payment of which is stopped at the Treasuries agreeable
to an Act of the last Session of Assembly. Auditor's Office, May 25th,
1785.
