Talbott.

Sr October the 7th 1685
Wee have just now reed his Majties pleasure concerning
Coll Talbott signified to us by his Lsp our Mastr pursuant and
in obedience whereto wee noe sooner reed: the same, but
immediately tooke care for the speedy and safe conveying,
and delivering of Coll George Talbott to your Exncys: hands,
in ordr to his passage for England according to his Majties
commands.
And accordingly by the bearer Mr Gilbert Clarke with a
guard of Six select able men (besides Rowers) well armed
and provided with swords Gunns pistolls and ammunition, we

send you the body of the said Coll George Talbott, whom we
request you to receive, and command to safe custody, as to
your Exncy shall seeme meete for his Majties Service, and pur-
suant to such Instructions as (we doubt not but) you have also
reed: in this behalf:
When our Messenger has discharged his Duty to your
Exncy: wee crave for him your discharge and dispatch back,
with an acknowledgemt of the receipt of the Prisoner for his
Majties Service under your hand; in noe wise doubting of all
necessary aid and assistance from the Magistrates and Officers
within your Governmt (when our men shall arrive there) for
the safe guard and conduct of them and their charge to your
owne person; assureing you of the like neighbourly kindness
upon all occasions within this Province, to be afforded you by
Yor Exncys: most humble Servts

The humble Petition of John Simmonds humbly sheweth
That whereas your Petitioner being accused of mutinous
and seditious speeches, tending to the trouble of this Province,
of which your Petr is convicted; But soe it is may it please
