Proclama cone: Townes &c. all longer time to build.

Maryland ss: By the Deputies Ltts
A Proclamation.
Whereas by an Act of Assembly of this Province Intituled
Ean Act for Advancemt of Trade] and one other Act Intituled
A Supplementary and Additionall Act to the Act for
Advancemt of Trade] The time therein limitted for building,
and thereby confirming to the severall Inhabitants of this Pro-
vince, and others therein concerned their right and title of in
and unto their severall and respective lotts, within the severall
& respective Townes and places of Trade, in the said Acts
appointed, and limitted by the last day of August 1685: is now
past and expired, and consequently the severall Inhabitants
and others therein concerned as aforesaid, have fforfeited and
lost their claime right and title of in and to their severall and
respective Lotts aforesaid, to their greate greviance and
damage; And not onely soe, but the maine end and designe
of advanceing the trade of this Province (of soe greate moment
and concerne to this Province) by the said Acts intended, may
for want of such buildings as aforesaid seeme to die and be
frustrated; All wch hath been occasioned through the scarceity
of provisions and other necessaryes, as also for want of Car-
penters and workemen to pursue the said Acts, and Clauses
therein; as we have been informed, and taken seriously into
consideration. Wherefore for the Incouragemt of the Inhabi-
tants of this Province, and others concerned, and that are will-
ing to promote and propagate soe good & laudable a designe
as by the said Acts is intended, and that the same may not be
any waies retarded or hindered, but prosecuted and pursued
with all diligence and vigour: Wee have thought fitt, And wee
doe by and with the advice & consent of his Lsps Councill,
hereby declare publish make knowne and proclaim, that what
person or persons soe ever haveing taken up any Lott or Lotts
within any the Townes or places of Trade appointed as afore-
said, and for the reasons aforesaid or otherwise have not com-
plyed with and pursued the said Acts by building thereon as

aforesaid, And that the same is not yet since taken up by
other persons, If such person or persons will yet before the
last day of December next, build or cause to be built, erected,
sett up, and finished upon every such his or their lott or lotts
respectively, One good sufficient twenty foote square Store
house, as by the said Acts is described and sett forth, Wee
will (together with the Delegates and members of the Lower
house of Assembly, at the next Generall Assembly to be
holden for this Province become humble Suitors to his Lsp: and
use our utmost endeavours to have such and every such
