take on Board any of the aforesaid Goods untill such Bond
bee given to the said Governor, or Certificate produced from
the Officers of any Custom house of England, Ireland, Wales
or Berwick, That such Bond hath been there duly given, shall
bee forfeited with her Gunns, Tackle, Apparell and Furniture
to bee imployed and recovered as therein is directed. You
are to take notice that though by the said Act the word (Ire-
land) is to bee inserted in the Condition of the Bonds, and per-
mission thereby given to bring the Enumerated Plantation
Comodities to Ireland as well as to England, Wales or
Berwick, yet by the aforesaid Act for Regulating the Planta-
tion Trade (which being expired, is revived by an Act of this
present session of Parliament) The word (Ireland) is to bee
left out of the Condition of such Bonds, And you are not to
permitt any Ship or Vessell to Load any of the enumerated
Goods upon any Certificate of Bond having been given in
Ireland, after the first day of Septembr 1685.
But in that case before they Load any of the said Goods
they are to produce Certificates of Bond given in England,
Wales or Berwick, or to give Bond to your selfe or the person
by you appointed to receive the same with good security as
aforesaid, And if any Ship or Vessell shall Load or take on
Board any of the said Comodities untill such Bond given in
Maryland, or Certificate produced from the Officers of some
Custom house of England, Wales or Berwick, that such Bond
hath been there duly given, the said Ship or Vessell is for-
feited, with her Guns &ca to bee recovered and divided in
manner as is therein directed.
4. And whereas by the aforesaid Act made in the 25th
year of the said late King's Reign for better securing the
Plantation Trade it is Enacted that if any ship or Vessell
which by Law may Trade in any of Our Plantations shall
come to any of them to ship and take on Board any of the
aforesaid Comodities, and that Bond shall not bee first given
with one sufficient Surety to bring the same to England,
Wales or the Town of Berwick upon Tweed, and to no other
place, and there to unload and putt the same on shoar (the
danger of the Seas only excepted) That there shall bee
answered and paid to us, Our heirs and Successors for so
much of the said Comodities as shall bee Laden and putt on
Board such Ship or Vessell, the Rates and Dutyes therein
mentioned. You are to understand that the Payment of the
said Rates and Dutyes thereby imposed doth not give liberty
to carry the said Goods to any other place, than to some other
of Our Plantations, or to England, Wales or Berwick, And
that notwithstanding the Payment of the said Dutyes Bond
must bee first given to carry the said Goods to some other
