upon Tweed, or are of the Built of and belonging to any of
Our Colonyes or Plantations as the Proprietors and right
Owners thereof, and whereof the Master and three fourths of
the Mariners at least are English under the penalty of the
Forfeiture and losse of all the Goods and Commodities wch
shall bee Imported or Exported in any other Ship or Vessell,
as also of the Ship or Vessell; And if any Goods shall bee
Imported or Exported contrary thereunto you are to cause
Seizure to bee made thereof, as also of the Ship or Vessell
Importing or Exporting the same, and direct prosecution
thereof, as in the said Act is provided. And for your Infor-
mation as to forreigne built Ships Wee referr you to the Act
made in the 14th year of the said late King's Reigne for pre-
venting Frauds and regulating abuses in Our Customes, being
also conteined in the said Book of Rates; And whereas it
is required, that the Master and three fourths of the Mariners
at least bee English, you are to understand that any of Our
Subjects of England, Ireland, or Our Plantations are to bee
accounted English and no others, and that the number of
Mariners are to bee accounted according to what they shall
have been during the whole Voyage.
3. Whereas by the said Act of Navigation it is further
Enacted, That for every Ship or Vessell wch from and after
the 25th day of December 1660 shall sett sail out of or from
England, Ireland, Wales or Berwick upon Tweed for any
English Plantation in America, Asia or Africa sufficient Bond
shall bee given with one Surety to the chief Officers of the
Custom house of such Port or Place from whence the said
ship shall sett saile to the value of 1000l if the Ship bee of lesse
burthen than One hundred Tonns, and of the Sume of Two
Thousand pounds if the ship shall bee of greater Burthen, That
in case the said Ship or Vessell shall load any of the Comodi-
ties therein enumerated at any of the said English Planta-
tions, that the same Comodities shall bee by the said Ship
brought to some Port of England, Ireland, Wales or to the
Port or Town of Berwick upon Tweed, and shall there unload
and putt on shoar the same (the dangers of the seas only
excepted) And for all Ships coming from any other Port or
Place to any of the aforesaid Plantations, who by this Act are
permitted to Trade there, That the Governors of such English
Plantations, shall before the said Ship or Vessell bee permitted
to Load on Board any of the said Comodityes take Bond in
manner and to the value aforesaid for each respective Ship or
Vessell, That such Ship or Vessell shall carry all the aforesaid
Goods that shall bee Loaden on Board the said Ship to some
other of Our Plantations or to England, Ireland, Wales or
Berwick, And that every Ship or Vessell which shall Load or
