To the Kings most Excellent Majties

The humble Address of the Depties Lievetents and Councill
of the Rt honble the Lord Propry of your Majties Province of
Maryland, The Justices of peace, principall Officers civill and
Military, Gentlemen, Planters, and others the Inhabitants of
the said Province.

Most dread Soveraign.
We your Majties most humble Dutifull and loyall Subjects
haveing first from the bottom of our hearts, and wth unspeake-
able griefe and Sorrow condoled the death of our late most
gracious Soveraign, your Majtics most intirely and dearely
beloved Brother King Charles the second of Ever blessed
memory, doe now presume to prostrate our selves at your
Royall ffeete, and most heartily with unexpressible joy and
thankesgiveing to Almighty God, congratulate your Majties
quiett and peaceable accession to the throne of your Royall
Ancestors your undoubted just and rightfull Inheritance,
Maugre all the Envy and Malice of heavens and your Ene-
mies; And as we have according to our Duty with the great-
est acclamations and Demonstrations of Joy proclaimed your
Sacred Majtie Our true and onely Sovareigne Leige Lord (which
wee hereby Recognize) soe in Testimony of Our Duty and
allegiance to your Majtie Wee doe most ffaithfully and cor-
dially assure your Majtie that wee shall be ready at all times,
and upon all occasions to Sacrifice our lives and ffortunes in
the defence of your Majtics Sacred person and Governmt never
ceaseing to pray, that the succession of the Imperiall Crowne
of your Majties Realmes and Dominions may for ever continue

in your Royall Line, and that your Reigne over us maybe
long & prosperous; all which we humbly Offer unto your
Maj'ie by the hands of yor most Loyall Subject, and our gra-
cious Lord and Propry the Rt honble Charles Lord Baltemore;
By whom also we most humbly Implore your Majties grace and
favour to him in that Station over us, wherein your most
Royall Predecesso" have thought fitt to place him, and under
whom wee soe happily live.
