liberty of pleading without any just cause shewn for the same
to the ruine of your Petitioner being never culpable or con-
victed of any Crime wch might Debarr him of the liberty of a
Subject
Your Petitioner doth humbly begg your Lspps ordr and
lycense to plead in the said County Court untill he shall
be legally convicted of any crime that may disable him from
such practice, and your Petitioner heard to make his owne
Defence. And he shall pray &c.

The result whereof issued in the following ordr of this
board viz.
By the Lord Propry & Councill
Maryld ss :
Ordered that Benjamin Randall of Kent County gentl prac-
tice as an Attorney in the County Court of the sd County
untill such time as the Commissionrs of the said County shall
make appeare to his Lspp and Councell upon just grounds any
reason to the contrary any former ordr of the said Court to
the contrary notwithstanding
October the 8th 1681: Signed p ordr

By Thomas ffolkes a petition viz

To the Rt honble Charles absolute Lord and Propry of this
Province
The humble Petition of Thomas ffolkes humbly sheweth.
Unto your Lspp that your Petitioner being Indicted &
arraigned before your Lspps Justices of the Provinciall Court of
Murder, and being found guilty by the Petty Jury of homicide
p misadventure doth most humbly begg your Lspps gracious
pardon for the same.
Lett the Petitioner sue out his pardon of Course is the
answer to the prayer.

By the Lord Propry

A Declaration in Relation to his proceedings in Defence of
the Province this yeare 1681:
It haveing been our constant endeavour both while we
were our ffathers Lievetent here and since his death dureing
our owne Governmt to study as well the plenty as peace of
the people of this our Province, and haveing heard the discon-
tents of many people ariseing from the greate charges of the
Support of the Governmt which was chiefly caused by the
