Whereupon It was thought fitt and convenient and likewise
ordered by this board that speciall warrants issue to the
sheriffs of Cecill and Baltemore Counties, authoriseing and
empowering as also strictly chargeing and Commanding them
and all other his Lsps Officers civill and Military within the sd
Counties and others the good people thereof to make diligent
search and enquiry in and about all places within their respec-
tive Counties both by Land and water for the sd Talbott and
his confederates or either of them and him or them whereso-
ever to be found forthwith to apprehend & Safely convey to
his Lsps Councill at the City of St Maries with all speed &ca
according to the foll precept (viz.)

Maryld ss: By the Councill
Whereas wee are credibly informed that Coll George Tal-
bott late an Inhabitant of this Province who is charged with
the murdr of Mr Christopher Rousby his Majties Collector is
absconded and privately kept in the County of Cecill, pticu-
larly at his owne house and sometimes at the house of George
Oldfield in Elk River, and hath with him severall confederates

and accomplices which doe hide guard and defend him from
the hands of Justice, contrary to the peace of his Lsp: the Lord
Propry as hath been sufficiently sett forth and made knowne
unto us.
These are therefore in the name of the Rt honble the Lord
Propry to will & require, as also strictly to charge & command
you the Sheriff of Cecill County aforesaid, and all other his
Lsps Officers civill and Military, and others the good people of
the sd County that immediately upon sight hereof you use all
waies and meanes possible to search for the sd Talbott, and
his confederates and accomplices in and about all places both
by water and land within the sd County; And him, and them
or either of them wheresoever he or they shall be found forth-
with to apprehend, surprise, take, seize, and by any lawfull
waies or meanes whatsoever in safe custody keepe, soe that
you have him and them or either of them soe apprehended
surprised taken and seized safely and securely before his Ldsps
Councill at the City of StMaries with all Imaginable expedi-
tion. Whereof faile not at your perill and for your soe doeing
this shall be your warrt Given under our hands and the lesser
Seale of this Province the 5th Day of March in the Tenth yeare
of the Dominion of the Rt honble Charles &ca Annoq Dmi.
