Wheeler who should he make report to, Mr Butler answered

to the Governmt what sd Wheeler should he come hither to
make report, noe answered Mr Butler to my Lord if he were
here, or to the head person now, or to that Effect; make report
to every Chimney Sweeper said Capt Wheeler, minding as I
thought his owne words of comeing hither to make report,
and soe meant the people of St Maries & not any others, and
further saith not

Ordered that the said Wheeler be remitted to the custody
of the sher. of St Maries County untill he give Security for his
appeareance at the Provinciall Court to answer the premisses
there

The honble Coll Vincent Lowe informes the board that about
Sixty fighting men of the Eastern Shore Indians, haveing
been for some time and now being upon his the sd Lowes
Island a hunting they did (not long since kill him about five
and twenty hoggs contrary to their Articles made with the
English

Mr Robert Carvile being admitted informes the board that
it was reported & he was told that Thomas Doxey and Owen
Guidor meeteing with an Indian hunting for Madam Calvert
(as himself said) they told him he should not hunt there, and
threatned to take away his Gunn; The said Indian afterwards

went to Mr Charles Calvert, and asked him how many men
there might be of the English thereabouts he told him four
hundred; what? said the Indian, greate men like Thorn:
Doxey ? Yes said Mr Calvert about 300 such as he and a
hundred less such as my Self, well replyed the Indian, and I
will have four hundred men for them by next Syder time.

The Complaint of Coll Lowe being taken into Considera-
tion It was concluded on and ordered that Coll Philemon
Lloyd be requested authorised and Empowered, and he is
hereby authorised and Empowered upon Receipt hereof to
send to the Emperour of Nantecoke by Nicholas Hackett the
Interpretr desireing him to send before him the said Lloyd
some of his greate men, to consider, consult, treate of, and
answer for severall misdemeanors offences and injuries done
and Committed by some of their Indians against the English
contrary to their Articles with us.
