At what time William Boyden of Charles County appeared
and gave his Deposition as foll viz
The Deposition of William Boyden of Charles County upon
Oath Examined
He saith that about two yeares since Capt. ffendall was at
his the Deponents house, and said that he had all the late pro-
ceedings in England at home at his house, and that my Lord
was a traytour, and he could proove it, that people were fooles
if they paid any leavys, that he would beare them out if they
did not, that it was then a time for people to speake their
minds, and say any thing for it was noe treason, that he hoped
within a few yeares to have more honor in the Countrey then
ever he had, that when he said people could speake noe
treason he made noe exceptions whatsoever, that on Sunday
after Captn ffendall was taken Robert Middleton of Charles
County said that Capt. ffendall was now goeing to call my
Lord to an Account, and that it was high time soe to doe.
The Deponent further saith that he was told by one Mr
Thomas who lived at Capt. ffendalls that Samll ffendall was
gone over into Virginia to fetch over some men at the same
time when he went down to Captn ffendalls house to know
whither Captn ffendall were a Prisoner, and to acquaint Capt
ffendall (if he saw him) that George Godfrey with his Troope
were ready to serve him.

William Taylor of Charles County also appeared at the
same time and gave in his Deposition as foll viz

The Deposition of William Taylor of Charles County upon
oath Examined
He saith that on Sunday after Capt ffendall was taken he
heard Robert Middleton say that there was a greate disturb-
ance up the Bay concerning those Letters Daniel Mathena
talked off, and that Captn ffendall was now goeing to call my
Lord to Account, and it was high time. The Deponent
