A New Commission in Blank drawne accordingly for New
Officers to the Troope of horse in St Maries County formerly
commanded by Capt Gerard Slye.

at the same time also Ordered that the Secry issue Com-
mission directed to Mr Robert Carvill and Mr Garratt Vans-
weeringen of the City of St Maries to Administer the oath of
Majoralty to the Major of that City

Ordered also that summons issue for James Smallwood of
Charles County to testifye at the next Prov" Court agt George
Godfrey wch is as foll. viz.

Maryland ss :
Ordered that all Excuses sett apart you be and personally
appeare before his Lspps Justices of the Provll Court at the
next Provll Court to be held at the City of St. Maries then
and there to testifye the truth of your knowledge on behalf of
his Lspp agt George Godfry of Charles County. Whereof you
are not to faile at your perill Dated at St Maries the 26th Day
of September in the Sixth yeare of the Dominion of the Rt
honble Charles &ca Annoq Domini 1681:

Memdu. this following information being delivered into his
Lspps hands by Capt Ninion Beale was by his Lspp ordered to be
entred in the Councill booke viz.
Upon the 31 th Day of August last divers Indians came to
the house of Edward Brock, the which Indians did much
damage unto the sd Brock in takeing away at least four
barrills of his Corne out of the field and broke open six hogs-
heads of Tobacco takeing what they thought good, and the
remainder heaveing it about the Plantation and in the Swamps
and killed three of his hoggs.
Upon the 10th Day of September now present there came a
greate party of Indians about 150 of them to the house of
Edward Brock the which Indians did him much damage in
breakeing open his two hhds of tobacco more takeing what
they thought good and to the value of two hhds of tobacco
