whereas in the said yeare 1678: severall Acts then passed in
favour of private persons and relateing to their particular
private Interests onely, his Lspp is not desirous to destroy the
the same, but willeth and giveth ordr for the new drawing of
all and every such private Bill or Act as aforesaid at the next
Generall Assembly in ordr then to pass both houses His Lspp
hereby promiseing to confirme the same with his assent
thereto and requireing that the same be pformed without any
charge to the partyes concerned.

Charles Absolute Lord and Propry of the Provinces of Mary-
land and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &ca To all the
Inhabitants of this our Province of Maryland, and others to
whom these prsents shall come or may concerne Greeteing.
Know yee that wee have Assigned constituted ordeined and

appointed, and by these prsents Wee doe Especially assigne
constitute ordeine and appoint our Trusty and well beloved
Councellor Coll Henry Darnall, our trusty and well beloved
Councelor Coll William Digges, our trusty and well beloved
Councelor Majr Nicholas Sewall, and our trusty and well be-
loved Councelor John Darnall Esqr to be of our Especiall and
Select Councill for us and in our name to heare and determine
all and all matters relateing to Lands as shall be duely brought
before them by any the Inhabitants of our sd Province, or
others sueing for Acts of Grace and favour therein. Hereby
also ordeining that they the said Coll Henry Darnall, Coll
William Digges, Major Nicholas Sewall, and John Darnall
Esqr or any three of them shall be a sufficient and compleate
Councill for the heareing and determineing the matters afore-
said. Giveing and granting hereby unto the said Coll: Henry
Darnall, Coll William Digges, Majr Nicholas Sewall, and John
Darnall F.Esqr or any three of them as aforesaid full power and
Authority to sitt and hold Councill when where, and as often
as to them shall seeme meete for the end and purpose afore-
said, And to grant to the Inhabitants of our sd Province, and
others Suitors in such Cases, such favours benefitts and privi-
ledges as have been usually given and condescended unto by
us in Councill, according to such ordrs Instructions and direc-
tions as Wee have already given or shall hereafter think fitt &
necessary to give unto them. Hereby ratifyeing confirmeing
and allowing for firme good and valid whatsoever shall be
done or granted by our said Councill pursuant to their said In-
