8: If upon such demand made they shall consent to deliver
him up or that you cann otherwise apprehend the said Indian,
wthout endangering a warr with them and other nations, you
are then to cause him to be forthwith conveyed downe to us
and our Councill at our City of St Maries, for Examination
and further proceeding therein as Wee shall think fitt.
9: And to the end that due Record may be kept of all
your proceedings and transactions in matter of Land accord-
ing to the foregoing Instructions, you are to keepe an Exact
Register of all warrants by you issued, Coppy whereof
together with the Certificates of survey thereupon made you
are (from time to time and at all times hereafter when and as
often as conveniently you cann) to transmitt under your hand
unto our Secrys Office at our City of St Maries there to be
entred upon Record.
10: And whatsoever shall by you Given be acted and done
pursuant and consonant to these our Instructions Wee will
shall be good firme and valid to all intents and purposes ;
hereby Ratifyeing approoveing and confirming the same soe
to be.
Given under our hand & Seale at Armes the Twelfth day of
March in the nineth yeare of our Dominion &c. Annoq Dmi.

At which tyme was returne made, read, and ordered to be
entred in the Councill booke, the tryall of Pohpoh Caquis an
Eastern Shore Indian with the proceedings and judgemt there-
upon made by the honble Coll Henry Coursey, and Coll Phile-
mon Lloyd by vertue of his Lspps Commission to them directed
the 15th Day of ffebruary Anno Dmi. 1683:
