5: Doe say that the Brethren have noe understanding,
because the doe not come and lament the death of the people,
as the Oneydes, and Onandages have done doe give a Belt of
Zw' as a drinke of understanding to drinke in wisedome,
Doe say further that they are one body with us, and that
which comes over them comes over us and that their Castles
may possibly by the Indians Eastward or Southward be
destroyed, and the Indians corne burnt; should not the
Brethren be sorry wth us, and lament our loss, for if one mem-
ber suffers, the whole bodys suffers alsoe.
6: Lett the Covenant betwixt us remaine fast and be kept
cleare with all Zeale and diligence, and not only the hard
armes but the heart tyed to one another, Doe give a Belt of
Twelve Deepe:
7: Wee have made propositions here diverse times with
prsents, and doe wish that the Governor Gen" comeing againe
from England might come and see them in their Country ;
The Governor of Canada doe come in the Confines of their
Country when he has any thing to propound unto them, doe
give Three Lapps.

8: Wee are obedient to the Governor and have always
obeyed his Comands viz. to putt the Indians to flight at
Hosake, to make peace wth the North Indians, in the prsence
of Majr Pynshon, as also vpon his request wth the Onnogon-
gues or Pennaquids Indians, This might possibly evilly
become us or break vp with us if any Rumo™ should come
from the Eastward Lett us knowe of it speedily.
After the propositions Doe say they have given a peece of
land to the wife of Claes Williams above Shennerhtady who
they say is a daughter of Corlaer, desired that the same
might be Confirmed by the Governor
As alsoe a peece of land to the sister of Akus called
killitye
And desire that Akus may not be hindred to manure the
flatt land or plaine above Shinnechtady which belongs to him
from his Mothr
Doe alsoe give a peece of land to Jno Mangels Canasta-
gwen wch they say will cause write, Desyre that he may have
pattent for the same.
