signed and sealed each part of th^m as well by you the Sheriff
as by the said ffreemen by whom the said Election shall be
made, and that upon such Election you the Sheriff shall soe
soone as conveniently may be certifie and transmitt to our
Chancelo^r of this Province for the time being One part of the
said severall and respective Indentures close sealed up under
your hand and Seale, and directed to us and also to our said
Chancelo^r and the other part of the said Indentures you are to
keepe for your Justification Witness our Self at our City of
S^t Maries &^c] And our will and pleasure is that the said two
Delegates for every County, City, Burrough, or Towne Cor-
porate as aforesaid, or the major part of them appeareing at
the time and place by the writt Assigned for holding the said
Assemblys be and shall for ever hereafter be and be reputed
the Lower house of our Assembly of our ffreemen of this
Province. And fforasmuch as it may happen that betweene
the Day of Election of Delegates and Deputyes for the respec-
tive Countyes Citys Burroughs or Townes Corporate as afore-
said, and the Day of the sitting of the Assembly or betweene
the Day of the prorogation or Adjournm^t of any Assembly
and the Day of the next meeteing of the same Assembly, or
dureing the sitting of any Assembly some One or more of the
Delegates or Deputyes may die, goe out of this Province, or
be otherwise disabled from sitting in the Assembly, Wee Doe
ordeine that upon notice given from the Commission^r of the
peace the Sheriff of the County or the Surviveing Delegate
or Deputy for such County City Burrough or Towne corpo-
rate to our Secry of this Province for the time being, or to
any Officer who may have the custody of the Chancery Rolls
and the charge of issueing out Writts for Electing Delegates
or Deputyes to serve in Assemblys, the said Secry or other
Officer soe Impowered as aforesaid to issue out such writts
shall immediately prepare such writts in the forme aforesaid
and bring them to our Chancelo^r of this Province for the time
being to be sealed with the greate Seale of this Province and
transmitted with all convenient speed to the Sheriff of such
County or the Mayor Recorder Alderman &c: of such City
Burrough or Towne Corporate as the writt shall direct, out of
which One of the Delegates or Deputyes is deceased, gone
out of the Province, or otherwise disabled to sitt and vote in
the Assembly as aforesaid, to the end another be chosen to
supply the roome of the deceased, absent, or otherwise dis-
abled Delegate or Deputy of the said County, City, Burrough
or Towne Corporate as afores^d Given at our City of S^t
Maries under the greate Seale of our said Province of Mary-
land the Sixth Day of September in the Sixth yeare of our
Dominion over our said Provinces &c.
