Noe man shall presume to use any braveing or men-
520 aceing words, signes or Gestures, where any of the
aforesaid Courts of justice are sitting. Upon paine of Suffer-
ing such punishment as the Court Martiall shall thinke fitt.
Whatever is to be published or Generally made
530 knowne shall be done by Beate of Drumm or the sound
of trumpett or other publique notice given that so no man
may pretend ignorance thereof, and after that whoever shall
be found disobedient or faulty against what is thus published
shall be punished according to these articles or the quality of
the ffact.
Which said Articles of Warr were admitted by his Lord-
shipp and Councell and Ordered that Coppyes thereof be
sent to the respective Collonels within this province to be
published at the heads of their Companyes and that every
Collonel give Coppy thereof to his respective Captaines to be
published at the heads of their Companyes, and that each
respective Collonell Satisfie and pay unto the Clerke of the
Councell for the time being for the Coppy of the said Articles
the summe of foure hundred pounds of tobacco.
At a Councell held at Mattapanye June the 16th in the first

Came Maquata King of Mattawoman and gave the Lord
Proprietary to be informed, that he was in great danger of
being destroyed by the comon Enemy, and therefore feared
his Owne life, if the Pamunckye Prisoner were sett at liberty ;
That the Matchoaticke Indians had a mind to come over to
his ffort and that he doth beleive there will be many Indians
(whether enemyes or ffreinds he knowes not but feares the
worst) in his Quarters ere long, and therefore desires to know
his Lopps pleasure how he shall demeane himselfe towards
them as well for his owne security as the security of the Eng-
lish. And he further shewed that since his Lopp was goeing for
