Then was the Honble Philip Calvert Esqr Sworne Chancel-
lour of this province before his Lopp the Right Honble Charles
Lord Baltemore.
The Honble Wm Calvert Esqr sworne Principall Secretary
and Notary Publiq of this Province
The Honble Philip Calvert Esqr sworne One of his Lopps
justices of the Provinciall Court and of his Lopps Council.
The Honble William Calvert Esqr sworne One of his Lopps
justices of the Provinciall Court and of his Lopps Council.
The Honble Philip Calvert Esqr sworne judge in Testamen-
tary buisnesse according to the forme of the Oath following
viz :
That he will truly and faithfully execute the Office & place
of the judge or Comissary Generall for the proveing of wills
& granting of administrations and in all other matters and
causes incident and dependent thereunto And will administer
justice equally to all parties without any partiality according
to the best of his Skill & judgmt. So God Almighty help him
& the holy contents of that booke.
April the 5th 1676.
Then was the Honble Baker Brooke Esqr The Honble Jesse
Wharton Esqr and the Honble Thomas Taylor Esqr sworne of
his Lopps Council and justices of the Provinciall Court before
his Lordshipp.

Charles Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of
Maryland and Avalon Lord Baltemore &c To all Our Officers
in Our said province of Maryland and all others whom
these presents may concerne Greeting Know yee that wee
reposeing especiall trust and confidence in the wisdome
diligence experience and fidelity of Our trusty and Deare
Cousin William Calvert Esqr have constituted appointed and
Ordained and by these prsents doe constitute appoint and
Ordaine him the said Wm Calvert to be Our Principall Secry
