A Casuall Question by an Indian (the day after Coll Lowe
had been at my house with his Lspps Commission) with my
further Examination of him upon it the 3d of August 1681 :
Indian. Why doe the Englishmen think that Robin Hood
killed the people below at St Maries ?
Because he was seene to goe over the Bay about that time
with neere twenty Indians with him, and all other Indians live-
ing on that side have denied the murder.
Ind: I am sure Robin Hood did not doe it then, for I was
one of the Indians went over with him.
How long is it since you went over the Bay with him?
Ind: Tis almost two moones.
How many Indians were you in Company?
Ind: We were 4 Choptank Indians, 5 Mattaponyes that
live with us, two Pascattoway men and 4 Pascattoway weomen
with Children
Did you meete with Ever a greate Canooe as you went
downe Choptank River?
