bound, they told him they came from Tequassinoes towne
and were bound over the bay to John Watkins, your Depo-
nent asked them when they intended to returne, they answered
when the geese came, but about Sixteene Dayes after eight
of them returned, Robin Hood Tequassinos Sonn being One
of them, Yor Deponent asked the reason of their soe sudden
returne, Robin Hood made answer that they heard that the
Sinniquos were come downe and had killed some Indians on
the Western shore, your Deponent asked if any English were
killed, they replyed there were six killed at Pottuxen they
thought by the Sinniquos and further saith not

Then our Commissions were read openly before the
Indians and Interpreted to them by John Squire a liver in
Talbott County.
Quest. first we asked the Indians what was the reason
King Hatsawapp did not come along with them
Ans: That they had acquainted him with it but he being
something in drink refused to come and made answer that
he staied away for his pleasure.
Qu: 2d Wee asked how many Indians went with Robin
hood over the Bay to the Western shore, about what tyme
they went, & about what time they continued there, and at
what houses they were at.
Ans: That Robin Hood and thirteene Indians more went
over the Bay to the Western shore about the tenth or twelfth
of June last past, and continued there about the space of tenn
dayes, and then returned again to their towne, and dureing
their stay there they were at Mr Samuel Chews and John
Watkins, except some few daies they were hunting in Mag-
gaty Bay, and this Tequassino affirmes being informed soe by
his sonn Robin hood
Que: 3d We asked the Indians the reason why Robin hood
returned soe suddenly from the Western shore and why but
half of the Indians he tooke over with him did but returne
again
Ans: That those Indians that staied behind were Matta-
pony Indians, and that they were gone to their owne towne,
