himself committed the said Deed to Mr Miller to Doe the
office abovesaid, but contrary to trust and promise he hath
procured Administration for himself and pretends the deed
to be insufficient in Law yett a long time refused to Deliver
the said Deed but by the Industry of the Justices in Kent
Court it was at last procured, which hath Incouraged your
Peticoner to endeavour to proove the sd Deed herself and
doe hope that your Honr will take noe advantage for want of
forme in the premisses for to ffulfill the Desire of the Deed it
being noe wrong to the liveing, and that you will of your
Clemency shew favour to the poore and the needy with the
force of your power in your Office, And if the Deed be insuf-
ficient in it Self that your Honor will be pleased to take notice
that your Petr did serve the said Lee as his housekeeper and
her two Daughters also being weomen growne did work and
make Tobacco and Indian Corne, finding ourselves bedding
& houshold goods and remained in the service of the said
Lee about ffifteen moneths the said Lee being for most part
of the time much afflicted with sickness and Lameness, and
Died thereof at last, Soe that if your Honor doe not please to
reverse Mr Millers Administration, your Petr & her daughters
are left remediless, the Estate being small and under priced
it now being in the hands of Mr Miller who doth all he cann to
intangle it in Law suites which before was not in Debt for your
poore peticoner hath given satisfaction and owed to Mr Miller
but the leavyes of three persons being two hundred and tenn
pounds of tobacco — wch was a small Debt to Administer for
had he not had other Evill considerations therein, by gaineing
into his hands One Negro Mann and one boatesaile and
Oares, and one Sloopes Hawser, the Appraisemt of the said
Commodityes not being prised past half or one third of what
they are worth, the rest of the goods being of small value and
comes to little, the said Mr Miller being very cruell and take-
ing all trifles whatsoever.
The premisses considered your poore Peticoner humbly
prayes yor Honr to grant her peticon that she may be
Admitted Adminrx of the sd Estate and she shall give good
Security for the pformance thereof, and shall as in Duty
bound ever pray &c Sarah Townesend

These are to acquaint you that the thirteenth day of this
instant Apll upon Request came Mr Michael Miller to the
house of James Ringold to meete the two weomen namely
Sarah Humphryes & Sarah Townsend to receive the warrt
from my Lord Propry for the redelivery of Humphryes Estate,
