theire persons or in burning theire houses or ffences To
ffinde Sufficient Suretyes for the peace or for theire good
behaviour towards us and the people And if they shall refuse
to find such security then to cause them to bee kept safe in
prison untill they shall find such security Wee have also
assigned you and every foure or more of you Whereof any of
you the said John Coode Gerrard Sly William Hatton and
Richard Lloyd shall be one to enquire by the Oath of good
and Lawfull men of the County aforesaid by whome the
Truth may the better be Known, of all and all manner of
ffellonyes Witchcrafts Inchantments Sorcerys Magick Art Tres-
passes forestallings Regrateings Ingroseings and Extorcons
Whatsoever and of all and singular other misdeeds and
Offences, of which Justices of the peace may or ought Law-
fully to enquire by Whomesoever or howsoever done or per-
petrated or Which hereafter shall happen howsoever to bee
done and attempted in the County aforesaid and of all those
who in the County aforesaid have either gone or ridden or
hereafter shall presume to goe or Ride in Companyes wth
Armed fforce to the disturbance of the people And also of all
those Who in like manner have Layne in Wayte or hereafter
shall presume to Lye in Waite to Mayme or Kill the people,
And also of Inne holders and of all and singular other per-
sons Who have offended or attempted or hereafter shall pre-
sume to offend or attempt in the abuse of Weights or Meas-
ures or in the Sale of Victualls or Liquors against the fforme

of the Lawes or any of them in that behalfe made for the
Common good of this Province and the people thereof in the
County aforesaid And also of all Sheriffes Bayliffes Stewards
Constables Coalers and other officers Whatsoever who in the
Execucon of theire Offices about the premisses or any of them
have Vnlawfully demeaned themselves or hereafter shall pre-
sume vnlawfully to demeane themselves or have been or
hereafter shall bee carelesse remisse or negligent in the
County aforesaid and of all and singular articles and Circum-
stances, and all other things Whatsoever by whomsoever &
howsoever done or perpetrated in the County aforesd or wch
hereafter shall happen howsoever to bee done or attempted,
in any wise more fully Concerning the truth of the premisses
or any of them & to inspect all Indictments whatsoever soe
before you or any of you taken or to bee taken or made or
Taken before others Late Justices of the peace in the County
aforesaid, & not as yet determined & to make & Continue
the processe thereupon, against all and singular persons so
Indicted or which hereafter shall happen to bee indicted
before you untill they bee apprehended or render themselves.
And to heare and determine such and soe many of the
