Ordered that the Sheriff of S^t Maries County forthwith
send an express to John Shankes of the same County with an
ord^r of Councell relateing to the Choptico Indians herewith
given him and that the same Messenger also after Delivery
thereof immediately goe to James Smallwood of Charles
County & Deliver unto him another ord^r of Councell relate-
ing to the Mattawoman and Nanjemy Indians with all expe-
dition possible, And for the more speedy & better effecting
thereof the said Sher.of S^t Maries County is hereby empow-
ered to press man and Horse for that purpose. Dated the
5th Day of June in the fourth yeare of the Dominion of the
R^tt Hon^ble Charles &c^a Annoq Dmi. 1679 :
