the late report of the troubles in England. And the said
ffendall enquired of this Deponent concerning a ffriggat that
was to be sent from England hither and this Deponent
replyed that he heard such a report upon his comeing away
from England that there lay a friggat ready but did not heare
that she was yett arrived here, that the intent of her comeing
was for the Lord Baltemore, To wch the said ffendall made
answer what need had they to send a ffriggat hither for (if it
be true as is reported of the troubles in England) I will
engage (if they will send but two or three words to me) to
send him home myself, and soe they may save that charge.
The said Partis was then required to make his further
appeareance at the Councell board to-morrow morning nine
a Clock according to the foll, precept viz.

Maryland ss.
You are hereby strictly charged and Commanded all
excuses sett apart to be and psonally appeare before his Lspp:
the Lord Propry and his Councell at Manahowickes Neck
to morrow morning by nine of the Clock precisely to answer
unto such matters & things as shall be then and there proposed
to you on behalf of his said Lspp: the Lord Propry whereof yu
are not to faile as yu will answer the Contrary at yor perill
Dated the eighth Day of Aprill — Anno 1679

Capt John Harris Commandr of the Shipp Dover of Lond:
being also at the same time upon oath Examined Did
Depose.
That he heard Capt Josias ffendall some time about the
moneth of ffebry last aboard his this Deponents said Shipp the
Dover say he had been a great Sufferer by the Chancelor that
if times turned he would right himself or words to that pur-
pose, and that if he were elected again he would sitt.

Aprill the 20th 1679:

His Lspp: the Lord Propry and his Councell again mett as
yesterday.
Capt ffrancis Partis also according to the precept to him
Directed yesterday makes his appeareance, and upon Oath
further Examined, Again Deposed viz.
That about the Latter End of ffebruary last he being at the
house of Capt Josias ffendall in Charles County there dis-
