To the Honble Thomas Notley Esqr Chiefe Governor and the
Honble Councell
The humble Peticon of ffrances Lucus of St Maries County
Widdow
Sheweth
That yor Petrs husband Dyed about 3 yeares since, and that
since his Decease yor Petr hath been compelled to Satisfie his
Debts wch amounted to more then the Effects of his Estate,
That yor Petr hath two Children One whereof a girle about
Eleaven yeares of Age is a cripple and goes on her hands and
knees, and yor Petr being a very poore woman and nothing
to maintain her Self and Children withall doth humbly request
some allowance out of the Publick for the maintenance of the
said helpless and crippled Child
And as in Duty bound she shall pray &ca
Whereupon Ordered viz.

Octob: 26th 1678:
The Peticon is referred to the Consideration of the Justices
of St Maries County Court who are Desired duely to consider
the necessity and indigency of the Petr soe as to award her a
charitable and competent maintenance out of the County
Leavy.
