horse & foote, in Somrset County
To be communicated to Mr Wm Stevens & Capt Thomas
Walker.

Propositions made to the Maques & Sineques Indians by
Henry Coursey Esqr on the behalfe of the right Honble Charles
Lord Baron of Baltemore Lord & Proprietary of Maryland, &
for all his Maties Subjects in Virginia & Maryland.

Being informed that the Maques Sineques &c are of this
Governmt & faithfull & constant friends to the English under
our great King I am come from my Lord Baltemore Lord
Proprietor of Maryland & all his Maties Subjects of Virginia &
Maryland to see and speak with you here.
That though through mistakes some discontents or injuries
may have happened between us heretofore, now upon the good
report of you which I finde we are willing that all what is past
be buryed & forgott you takeing care (as we shall on our
parts) that your Indians nor none liveing among you or

p. 132 comeing through your Country doe for the future injure any
of our persons, Piscattoway or other our Indians liveing with
us, or goods And if any ill persons should doe us any harm,
that there be prsent full satisfaccon given for all injuries or
damages.
The above being observed so that no injury or damage be
done, or satisfaccon given we shall allwayes esteem & treat
you as our good Neighbours & friends.
And in case hereaiter any difference should happen betwixt
you & the Indians in league with us, that you will not imedi-
atly make warr before that we know the occasion, so that
thereby we may call them to accompt for the evill done to you,
& to propose satisfaction to you for that wrong, & soe to
continue the peace.

who was assisted Col Henry Coursey authorized by Charles Lord
by Mr Arnout. Baron of Baltemore Lord Proprietor of Maryland
