fol 54.

December 9th 1676.
Ordered that the Garrison at Mattapeny be dismist within
six dayes and that the Deputy Governour issue Order to that
purpose.

A Proclamacon

Whereas in these dangerous & Rebellious tymes there are
divers convicted persons Imported into this Province before
the tenth day of Novembr att which day the Act against
Importacon of Convicted persons into this Province doth take
place And whereas itt appeareth Evidently that the landing
of such persons in this Conjuncture of tymes & Affaires is
absolutely destructive to the Peace of the Province Bee itt
Ordained by the Governor & Councell And itt is hereby
Ordained That the Master of the Shipp or Vessell in which
the said Convicted persons are Imported shall before he pre-
sumes to land sell give or dispose of any the said convicted
persons within this Province or to any person in this Province
Enter into Bond to the Lord Proprietary of fifty pounds sterl.
with two sufficient suretyes such as any two of the Justices of
the County Court of the County in which the said Convicts
shall be landed or Attempted to be landed shall Approve of

Convicts that shall be attempted to be landed sold given or
disposed of to any person or persons within any the severall
