Ordered that a new writt issue to Mr John Code instead of
the Deputy Leivtenant to serve at the laying the Levy in
October next as Delegate for St Maries County.

Ordered that for the Safety of the Records at St Maries
there be deposited in the hands of Collonel Wm Calvert thirty
pounds of powder and One hundred pounds of Shott Out of
his Lopps Magazine.

[Appointment of Receivers and Collectors.]

Ch: Baltemore
Charles Absolute Lord & Propry of the Provinces of Mary-
land and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c To all the
Inhabitants and People within our said Province and all others
whom these prsents shall any wayes concerne Greeting
Whereas for the better Collecting Receiving & getting in our
Rents, Port Dutyes, Impositions & all other profitts perqui-
sites & just debts whatsoever in this our Province Itt is fitt and
requisite some persons should be appointed & Empowered
who from tyme to tyme may Recover Collect Receive & gett
in the same Know ye therefore that we reposeing much trust
& Confidence in our Right Trusty & welbeloved Thomas
Notley & Benjamin Rozer Gentl have Empowered Consti-
tuted & Appointed And we doe hereby Empower Constitute
& appoint the said Thomas Notley & Benjamin Rozer joyntly
& severally our Receivrs & Collectors of all our Rents Port
Dutyes Imposicons profitts perquisites debts & dues whatso-
ever in this our Province And to doe & performe all & every
things which to the Office & place of Collector & Receiver
doth belong or any wayes Apperteyne And upon Receipt of
any Sume or Sumes of money Goods or Tobacco to us due
or belonging Acquittances & discharges to make Seale &
deliver Hereby. Ratifying Confirming & Allowing all or what-
soever the said Thomas Notley or Benjamin Rozer or either
of them shall doe or cause to be done by Vertue hereof, with
full & ample power under them or either of them by Comis-
sion under their hands & Seales or under the hand & Seale
of one of them to Constitute & Appoint such Sub Collectors
& Receivers under them as they shall thinke fitt with like or
lymitted power And the said Comissions or any of them to
Revoake & Adnull att pleasure Willing & hereby Requiring
our said Receivers & Collectors to call to an Account once
every yeare all the Sheriffes of our severall & respective
Countyes, & all others or Deputy Receivrs & Collectors who are
hereby Required to give in their accounts accordingly And upon
refusall to Accompt or delay of payment of what shall be due
