should be imported into this province & likewise That all
Tobaccoes wares & Marchantdizes of the growth produccon
& manufacture of this Province intended to be sold here or
transported out of this Province should for that end and
intent be brought to the said ports & places as by the said
Acts relacon respectiuely being therevnto had & made more
fully and at Large it doth & may appear and whereas seuerall
of those Townes ports or places in the said two seuerall Acts
menconed haue been by experience found to be very ill scitu-
ated haueing noe convenient landings or passable wayes in
the winter season for the bringing Tobaccoes & other wares
& m^rchantdizes to the same whereby many psons otherwise
very desireous to build haue been much discouraged to seate

themselues in suuch Townes & ports & seuerall other places
in many Counties haue by the Inhabitants thereof been much
pitched vpon for more comodious places and more conveni-
ently furnished with all requisites fitt for Townes of Trade &
comerce w^ch were they Erected into Townes & ports would
highly conduce to the carrying & bringing euen to perfeccon
soe great & good a worke as by the Act before recited was
intended to the end therefore th^t all possible Encouragem^t
may be giuen to a vigerous prosecucon of an affaire soe
highly importing the Hono^r & Wellfaire of this province the
deligates of this Gen^rall Assembly doe pray that it may be
Enacted. And be it Enacted by the Right hono^rble the Lord
Propry by & with the advice & consent of the vpper & lower
houses of this p^rsent Gen^rall Assembly and the Authority of
the same that the Townes ports & places herein after perticu-
larly menconed be & are hereby aded & made ports & places
equall with the other Townes formerly by the acts aforesaid
or either of them made & appointed where all shipps & Ves-
sells tradeing into this Province shall vnlade & put on shore
& sell barter & trafique away where all tobaccoe good wares
& Marchantdizes th^t shall be imported into this Province &
likewise of the growth producon & manufacture of this Prov-
ince intended to be sold here or transported out of this prov-
ince shall be for that End & intent brought to the said port &
places (That is to say) in the County of S^t Maries at piles
fresh on both sides of the said fresh on the Land of M^r Joseph
Pile and Thomas Sympson in Kent County a Towne port or
place at Swan Creeke on the plantacon & land of W^m Stanly
To be called Millford Towne in Calvert County one other
Towne port or place att Harvey Towne and the land adjacent
there in Charles County one Towne port or place at lower
Cedar poynt in Pukewaxen hundred on or neere the land late
of M^r James Tire deceased and one other at dangyes point in
