[Council to Christie.]
Rob' Christie, Esq.
Sir. We have received your Letter by Mr Moses Galloway,
and have no manner of objection to the power you say you
intend to give him to finish the Collection in Baltimore
County. We have already wrote in the strongest manner to
the Committee of Observation for that County to enquire into
and endeavour to put a stop to all irregularities of the nature
you complain of; we hope it will a happy Effect, and that
harmony and good order will be restored, more especially as
Baltimore Town is now becoming the seat of Congress.
Should you be desirous of having any further Proceedings the
several facts you alledge ought to be verifyd by Affidavit.
