should have done it on the first application but was informed
the Board of admiralty, had the management of that business
and my not seeing them was the reason. The rum, sugar &c
on board the Schooner Nancy will be sold on Monday next
we shall want a sufficient Quantity for the next cruize should
be glad you'l appoint some one not belonging to the ship,
either to purchase or procure what may be necessary for that
purpose. I have the Honor to be,

Thursday, December 5th 1776.

Council met. Present as on yesterday. Mr Hall attended.
Permit granted to Abel Ashby Master of the Schooner Two
Brothers to go to North Carolina, he having given Bond as
required.
Ordered That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Lieut.
Levin Lawrence thirty pair of Shoes for his Artillery Recruits.
Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Godfrey
and Ellicott eighty Pounds Currency.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to Oliver Whiddon
two Pounds ten Shillings for a musquet.
Ordered That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Capt.
John Cary of the Schooner Resolution, two Shirts, two Jack-
ets, two Pair Shoes, two Pair of Stockings and a Bolt of
Canvas.
Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Capt.
Garey fifty pounds for his mens wages.
Instructions and sailing Orders were given to Capt. Garey
of the Schooner Resolution.
Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Col.
Henry Hollingsworth three hundred and forty eight Pounds
eight Shillings and five Pence half penny, the balance of his
general Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Isaac Harris ninety Pounds
eighteen Shillings and four pence.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Gardner four Pounds
seven Shillings and six Pence.
That the said Treasurer pay to Moses Lecompte thirty one
Pounds one Shilling and six Pence.
That the said Treasurer pay to Col. Henry Hollingsworth
five hundred Pounds on Contract.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Tongue six Pounds
Currency.
Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver to Robert
