A Bill of Armes sent to the Council of Safety at Annapolis
by Capt Norris Nov. 20th 1776.
To 50 Musket Bbls.
To 200 Bayonetts,
12 Large Wall pieces chambor'd,
To one do Stocked Iron mounting
To one do Riffled Brass Mounting.

Montgomery County 20 Nov. 1776.
Sir.
Samuel Wade Magruder Captain and James Wallace first
Lieutenant of a Militia Company in the 29th Batalion, having
resigned their commissions or rather declineing to act, the said
Company met and appointed John Johnson Captain, Jesse
Wilcoxon (who was before their second Lieut) first Lieuten-
ant, and Abraham Young 2nd Lieutenant.
You will therefore please make out their Commissions and
send them pr first opportunity.

Thursday 21 November 1776.
Council met. Present as on yesterday.
Mr Charles Wallace Howard produced and delivered to the
Council the following Receipt, to wit,
"Received 20th November 1776 of Mr William Hindman
Treasurer of the Eastern Shore by the Hands of Mr Charles
W. Howard, twelve thousand nine hundred and seventy
Pounds sixteen Shillings and eight pence Currency in Bills of
Credit. Benja Harwood junr."
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Eastern Shore pay to
Col. James Murray forty two Pounds Currency to defray the
Expence of taking the number of Souls in Dorchester County.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to Brigadier General
Hooper fifty Pounds.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to Major Thomas
Muse fifty Pounds.
Copy of Letter No 18 was sent to the honorable John
Hancock Esquire President of Congress, Copy of No 19 to
Capt. John Martin, Copy of No 20 to Major Thomas Muse,
and Copy of No 21 to Mr Jesse Hollingsworth.
