the Hon. the President of Congress and have according to his
request forwarded them by a fresh express, the important
intelligence they contain will not admit of delay, and there-

which be pleased to have distributed throughout your county,
that the militia may be ready for further orders in case this
State should be invaded.

Tuesday 19th November 1776.
Council met. Present as on yesterday.
Commission issued to John McKeel appointed master of the
Brig Sturdy Beggar mounting 14 Guns.
Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Joseph
White twenty eight Pounds fifteen Shillings for Pike-Staffs.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to Oliver Whiddon
fifty five Shillings for a musquet.
The Council contract with William Goldsmith for the
making five hundred Pair of Shoes at twelve Shillings per
pair; the said Shoes to be delivered on the last Day of Janu-
ary next.
Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to William
Goldsmith One hundred and twenty five Pounds in Advance
in Consequence of the above Contract.
Copy of Letter No 15 was sent to Mr Stephen Steward.
Adjourned till next Day 10 o'Clock.
