Philadelphia 9^th Nov. 1776.
Honb^le Sirs.
I arrived here the 2^nd Inst, with 76 Privates, a return of my
company stores, & the state of our Guns I deliv^d the Board of
War, and beg^d that those wanting repairs might be sent to the
Smiths for that purpose. My request was not complied with,
to have marched to Camp with Guns in such order would
have been folly. I therefore applied to Col^o Ramsey for
money who procured me 250 Pounds.
I have taken the Liberty to Inclose my account, by which
you will see there is a Balance due the Company which I beg
may be sent, or an order therefore to Col^o Ramsey. I have
been obliged to advance money, as the Company was in need,
and unwilling to march without being paid
