[Vanbibber and Harrison to Council.]

St. Eustatia 8th Nov. 1776.
Gentlemen.
The foregoing is what we have wrote Messrs Willing &
Morris relative to the obligations given Capt. Samuel Pote
for a sum of money which we had imminent occasion for, but
fearing they will not exert themselves in that Buisiness unless
they have orders from you. therefore must entreat you on
receipt of this to write to and press them to take up said
obligation, that we are incapaciated to discharge, should it be
demanded here, we being so largely in advance of the Publick
allready. We flatter ourselves as we have strained every
nerve to serve the State on every occasion, you will pay
particular attention to our request. Time will not permit us
to enlarge therefore conclude With the highest Esteme
Gentlemen
Your most obedient Servts
