culpable as at first might appear. I have through the cours
of this week been Busied in sending on three Companyes to
flying camp, and am waiting now for the Carolinahans, which
I expect every hour, which when I have forwarded shall
immediately wait on your Honnours, when I doubt not of
rendering full satisfaction, the large and small Brels & Bayo-
netts are going on as usal, shall Bring a parcill of each sort
with me, or send them by first opportunity, and am, Gentlemen,
Your most obdt Humb. Servt.

P. S. If your Honnours take the trouble to consult the
deligates from this County I flatar myself they will inform
you that I have not been an idle Servant to the Publick or
your Honnours.

Baltimore Nov 3d 1776.
Honered Sirs.
On friday Last we finished heaving down the Scooner
Ninety Two and yesterday I called a survay of Masters of Ships
on her standing Rigging they gave their opinion that the
rigging was sufficient for a voige her fore mast is bad. I
intend to get it out tomorrow and check it or get a new one
I intend to begin to loade on tuesday next, the scarcity of men
to work is incredible, as to sailors there is not one to be got.
Mr Smith cannot supply me with lines cordage, but I believe
Mr Lux can furnish us with what we want — the Resolution
has 20 hogsheads tobacco and 220 barrills flower in. She
will be loaded this next week.

Council met. Present as on Saturday except Mr Nicholson.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Captn
Nathaniel Smith two hundred and thirty six Pounds, two
shillings & six Pence.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Thomas Snowden one
hundred and thirty eight Pounds three shillings and four
Pence.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Dr Adam Fisher for use
of Margt Balswell, Willm Rutfort and Tobias Risener twenty
eight Pounds, seventeen shillings and eight Pence.
Adjourned 'till next Day 10 o'Clock.
