Friday, September 20th 1776.

Council met. Present as on yesterday, except Mr Thomas.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Captn Uriah
Forrest one hundred & sixty one pounds one shilling & ten
Pence for Acct of his Compy
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to John Gibson two
Pounds, twelve shillings & six Pence for Amt of Acct
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Colo Richd Barnes
sixteen pounds, one shilling and six Pence for Amt of Acct
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Colo Richd Barnes four
pounds, eight shillings & four pence for sundries furnished
Captn Forrest's Company.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to John Lucas fourteen
shillings & six Pence, for cash paid Rd Pottinger for medicine
for Lucas.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Captain
Michl Lowe twelve pounds, seven shillings & ten pence, for
the service of his Compy
Commissions issued to Thos Wilcoxon, appd 1 Lieut.
Wm King 2 Lt
John Evans Ensign
of Captn Michl Lowe's Company of Militia in Prince Georges
County.
Warrant granted to Mr Nicholas Norwood to raise a
Company of men, agreeable to the resolves of the late
Convention.
Ordered That W. Shore Treasurer pay to the said Norwood
two hundred and thirty four pounds for Bounty money.
Ordered That Captain Vernon Hebb and Mr Timothy
Bowes, or either of them dispose of, for the use of this state
such Part of the Captures lately made out of Dunmore's
Fleet, that may be deemed perishable or wasting.
Adjourned 'till next day 10 oClock.

Gent. Queen Ann's Coty 20 Sept. 1776.
In obedience to a request from the President of the Con-
vention signified to me by his letter of the 8th Inst. I immedi-
ately wrote to the several Captains and commanding officers
where there are no Captains, requesting them to call their
companys together, those on Kent Island to meet on Monday,
and those on the main to meet on Tuesday now last past. A
few days after I had wrote to the officers on the main, the
principal persons in five of the companies (some of the
officers in them excepted) had a meeting and determined to
