you that agreable to your order 16th July last we have pur-
chased a few arms which together with those taken from the
Non Associators were delivered to such of the militia as went
to St Marys but shall now be called in and we will procure all
the arms we can but are in doubt it will not be in our power
to get a sufficient quantity of Capt Brooke's company. You'll
please to send some cash to pay for them and also the sum of
Twenty pounds ten shillings current money to pay the con-
stables of the different hundreds for their collecting the
number of Inhabitants [of this] County agreable to your order
which are to be returned to us on Monday next and shall be
sent to you pr next post.

Wednesday August 28th 1776.

Council met. Present as on yesterday. Mr Nicholson
attended.
Ordered That Elisha Winters be requested to deliver to
Captn Greenby Goldsborough 20 Musquets.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Chs Carroll
Esqr for use and by order of Wm Nevin twenty seven Pounds
Curry
Ordered That Western Shore Treasurer pay to John Shell-
man six Pounds, seventeen shillings, for Subsist: of Flying
Camp.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to John Green six
Pounds, two shillings & four Pence for Spunges, and other
Things for Cannon.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Messrs Crait & Jenifer
ninety six pounds, sixteen shillings for attendance on Captn
Beall's Company.
Ordered That if Mr Bruff can repair and make fit for
service seventy of the best Guns deposited in his hands for
that purpose by the Committee of Talbot County within eight
days after the receipt of this order, he do the same, but in
case he cannot repair and render them fit for service by that
time, he deliver them immediately to Captn Goldsborough,
who will have them expeditiously repaired by Elisha Winters
in Chester Town.
Ordered That Eastern shore Treasurer pay to Captn
Greenby Goldsborough forty Pounds for Subsist: of his Compy
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Captn
Thomas Hammond eighty eight Pounds four shillings and
nine Pence for Guns.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Christopher Edelin for
use of the Committee of Observation for Fredk County two
hundred & fifty Pounds, for use of Prisoners.
