It would be extremely serviceable to the public and agree-

Dorset County 31^st July 1776.
Sir. The conduct of Lieutenant Levi Willen and Ensign
Job Todd, both of Cap^t Lake's company of Militia, has of late
been such as gives great reason to suspect their principles are
unfriendly to American Liberty, and which I think renders
them unfit to hold their commissions. I therefore make this
representation of them to your Honourable Board that you
may take such order therein as you think necessary.

Gentlemen. There is a soldier belonging to Cap^t Bowie's
company (formerly Col Ewings) who deserted and was taken
up ten days ago and put into the prison in Baltimore. Coll^o
Ewing desired I would send his men to joyn their Company as
soon as I had an opportunity. I should be glad you would
let me know as soon as convenient wheather the sheriff must
be allowed what is common for taking up servants and the
Prison fees. You'll observe he is committed by the name of
Sam^l Johnson, his name is John Montgomery.
I shoud be glad to know who I am to apply to as Docter in
M^r Wesenthalls absence, if it would be agreable to you
wou'd apply to Doct^r Coulter who I think the most skillfull in
this place and will do it as cheap as any one.

We herewith send under a guard to your Board Joseph
Wheland J^r John Evans and Robert Howith, who were lately
taken in Hooper's streights in service of Lord Dunmore, by a
