Be assured that this is the only reason of my resignation ;

for with pleasure will I execute any further Office conferred
upon me in the service of my country.
The Council of Safety I am Gentlemen
of the Province of Maryland. Yr Obedt hble. Servant
John Cradock

[Charge against Clark.]

Mr Cumberland Dugan inform'd the Committee, that on or
about last Friday senight, he heard Mr James Clark, Magis-
trate in this County express himself to the following purport.
That if we did keep quiet a little longer, we should soon have
People here, who would take care of us & look after us. And
that at another time being at Mr Clark's house & conversing
with him on the subject of his not mustering nor attending
the Company of Militia, in which said Clark was enrolled, he
heard said Mr Clark say, that he would get back again all
those fines which he paid to Mr Levy the Clerk of said Com-
pany, as he charged Mr Levy with all that he paid on that
account; and that he never would take up Arms in defence
of America, or in the present contest.

[Sanderson to Council.]

To the Honble Convention of Delegates for the Province of
Maryland at Annapolis.
Gentlemen.
I understand that a certain number of Camp Kettels are
immediately wanted for the use of the Troops now raising by
your Honble House. Having a sufficient quantity of materials
for the purpose begs leave to offer to your House that I will
make them any quantity they may want at so low a rate as
£21/6 p Kettele of copper well trim'd with Beal and ears,
sufficient for six men in a mess.
