Copy of Letter No 89 was sent to Captain [Burgess] near
Antietam, Frederick County.
Ordered That Captain Burgess be appointed to prove the
Cannon to be supplied by Messrs Samuel and Daniel Hughes
and that the Committee of Observation for the Middle District
of Frederick County deliver to said Captain Burgess Powder
sufficient for that Purpose.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Col. Joshua Beall thirty Pounds to be accounted for.
Copy of Letter No 90 was sent to Col. Zadok Magruder of
Frederick County.
Adjourned till next Day 10 O'Clock.

[Council to Hanson.]

To John Hanson Esqr Chairman of the Committee
of Mid. Dist: of Fredk County
Sir.
The Bearer will deliver you the Association Papers sub-
scribed in your County, which we request you will return to
us by some safe Conveyance as soon as you can conveniently,
as the Convention may possibly want to see them.
We shall be obliged to you for particular account of the
Expences incurred by the Minute-Companies in your County
as well as their Wages, that we may transmit the Money to
you to discharge them. If an opportunity should offer, we
request you'll send us all the Bayonets belonging to the Pro-
vincial Musquets.
N. B. The Times of the Attendance of the Men must be
proved by the Oath of some one at least of the Commissioned
Officers, agreeable to the Resolves of the last Convention &
we return the inclosed for that Purpose.

[Council to Daniel and Samuel Hughes.]

To Messrs Danl and Samuel Hughes.
Gentn
We received a Letter yesterday from Mr Lux advising us
of your having cast and bored 1 18 Pounder and that you
expected to have 4 others finished by this Time. Our Board
have appointed Captain Burgess to prove them, and desire
you will forward them to Baltimore, as fast as you can get
them ready to send off, as they are greatly wanting there.
