mine where they may be most Conveniently posted, we shall
be glad the Committee of Observation would take the Matter
under Consideration and give us their Sentiments of the Place
which may best answer the intended Purpose
23 Feby, 1776

[Young to Council.]

Gentlemen. Finding by the resolves of last convention that
Commissioned officers of Minute men are excused from
appearing among the Militia in a lower station I take the
liberty of applying to you for the following commissions for
myself & my inferior officers, that we may convince even the
most prejudiced that we are justly entitled to the above
indulgence.
I am with much respect Gentlemen your very huml Sert
Jacob Young.

Fredk Town 21 Feby 1776. Jacob Young Captain, Peter
Grosh 1st Lieutenant Archd Boyd 2d Rezin Davis Ensign

Thursday 22d Feb. 1776.

Council met. Present the same Members as yesterday
except Mr Tilghman and Mr Hall.

Commissions issued to James Tootell appointed Captain
Philemon Warfield 1 Lieut. Lancelot Warfield 2 Lieut. &
Thomas Warfield Ensign of a Company of Militia in Ann
Arundel County.
Also to George Watts appointed Captain, David Kerr 1
Lieut. Joseph Maccubbin, 2d Lieut & Joshua Cromwell Ensign
of a Company of Militia in said County.
Also to Henry Hall appointed Capt. John Worthington
(son of Brice) 1 Lieut. Nicholas Worthington Junr 2d Lieut. &
Gilbert Yieldhall Ensign of a Company of Militia in said
County.
Also to Absalom Anderson appointed Ensign of Capt.
Thomas Mullikin's Company in said County, all belonging to
the Severn Battalion.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Mr Robert Cummins four thousand pounds within a Month
from the 16th Inst.
In Consequence of the Resolve of the honorable Conven-
tion made at Annapolis, 18 January last.
Ordered That the Records of Ann Arundel County Court
be removed to morrow morning, if fair, if not, the first fair
Day, from the City of Annapolis to Mr Rezin Gaither's House
