also the 165 yards delivered for the Sloop Hornet, and the

143 1/4 yards delivered Mr Hugh Young.
Ordered That the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
St George Peale three pounds nine shillings being the Amount
of his Expences to Marlborough to provide a House for the
Reception of the Records.
Ordered That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Key three
pounds ten shillings for chests for the said Records.
Adjourned till next Day 10 o'Clock.

[Council to Baltimore Committee.]

To the Committee of Observation for Baltimore County.
Feby, 15 1776
Gentn By a Resolve of the Convention the Committees of
Observation were directed to purchase all the Sulpher they
could meet with in their several Counties at a Price not
exceeding 6d p pound and to have the same lodged in the
Store of Messrs Lux & Bowley in Baltimore Town — we desire
you will let us know what has been done in your County in
Consequence of that Resolve, [as the Convention had agreed
with Mr ——— to take his dues for the use of this Province, and
the Congress has resolved that the Committee of observation
should ascertain the price, we request you will be pleased to
let us know the Quantity and what it is valued at]

Princess Ann Feb 15th 1775.
Sir. I am directed by the Committee of observation of this
County to inform you that the independent Company raised
for this county and commanded by Capt Gunby will be col-
lected at this place on Tuesday next; and they are desirous
some way shou'd be pointed out for supplying them with pro-
visions & other necessarys. if I remember right the mode of
victualling the troops is left entirely in the breast of the Coun-
cil of Safety, & I presume you have taken some order in it
before this time there is certainly a necessity that provisions
and firewood should be immediately procured by some person
or other for the several companys or the probable event will
be that they will, or at least many of them, leave their place of
station. If a particular person in each County should be
appointed either by the Council of Safety or the contractor
general I would beg leave to mention to you Mr James
Geoghegan a merchant of this Town both willing & capable
