328Court and Testamentary Business, 1653.
Liber B. Said mr Bushrode upon a Judgmt of Court against him the Said Capt Brent at the Said Bushrodes Suite for two thousand five hundred and Eighty pounds of Tobacco of the Sixt of December 7648. Edward Packer plte Upon the defendants mocon the hearing mr Richard hoskins deft I is Respited till the Court to be held in June next or the next Court afterward if there be noe Court that Month, and the defendt is then to produce his proofes
p. 529 Upon the Mocon of mr Edward Packer alledging himself as Attorney for Capt Richard Husband to be greatest Creditor to the Estate of John Stringer deceased as appeares by Bill upon Record, And mr William Allen who by order of Court of the 15th of ffebruary las was to Make his power of Clayming on the Said Capt Husbands behalfe, appeares not having as yet made any Such power appeare, And the Said mr Packer having been formerly understood to be the Said Capt husbands Attorney, It is ordered that upon the Said mr Packers recording of his Lre of Attorney from Husbands, the Secretary may Grant to him the Administration in the behalf of Capt Hus- bands.

Butrice John plte John Buttrice Suit against John Cornelius Cornelius John deft belng for a Certaine quantity of Fobacco, and Contra John Cornelius Suit against Buttrice being for a Ring both Causes are respited till the Next Court, and in the meane time the parties may make what further proofe the Can.
Henry Medlop, at the request of mrs Cornelius deposed Saith That a twelve month Since he this Deponent Saw a Ring in Mary Hattons hands which he Viewing perceived that there was a Little Crack in the Rynlme of the Said Ring, and inlayed with black about the Stone which was Sett in the Said Ring, which Said Ring the Said Mary Hatton told this depo- nent that John Buttrice proferred to give her, And further Sayth not J urat 2do Marcij 1653 Coram me. Tho Hatton
Whereas Lieutent William Lewis was Arrested to appear at the Court at St Maries at the Suit of William Hardwich Ed- ward Packer maketh oath that the Said Lieutent Lewis desired & Authorized him as his Attorney to confess a Judgmt on his behalf to the Sd Hardwich upon tilat Aeon or to that Effect.
