            162 Court and Testamentary Business, 1649 50.

        

        

        

        Liber B.   August 1649, payable in St Michael's hundred the tenth day of

              November following, The Defdt Confesseth the Debt, It is

              Ordered that the Said Defdt make present Satisfaccon, and

              that the Bill to be delivered up to be Cancelled.

        

        

          Mr John Metcalf plt    The plt having formerly obtained an

              Scippar Jacob Dirrickson by Attachmt out of the Secretaries Office

              Jno Hatch his Attorney Deft for the Securing a debt of Ten pounds

              Sterling upon bill dated the 25th of March 1651 payable at

              Christmass next following, which Said Money was to be Laid

              out in Holland according to the Plt directions for Comodities,

              and the Said Commodities to be delivered in St Georges River

              to the Plt, the plt running the danger of the Seas The Defdt

          p. 300   failing in the performance of his Said ingagement the Corn-

              playnt moveth the Court to proceed to Judgmt But the Deft by

              his Attorney Answers that he had noe Summons to appear in

              the Vmisses this Court and refuseth to Answer till he the

              Defdt by his Attorney Shall have Lawfull Summons.

        

        

                An Administracdn is this day granted unto Wm Scote of the

              goods Chattells and debts of Wm Bloff late of this Coty of St

              Maries in the right of Sarah his wife the late wido and relict of

              Win Broff deceased and to exhibit a Just and a true Inventary

              into the Secretary's Office according to the appraisemt of two

              honest men within thirty days, and then to give in Security for

              the keeping of an accompt in the usual forme and to be

              Answerable for the Said Estate

        

                        At a Court held the 23d of Aprill

                        present as the day before

        

                The Deposition of Mr Thomas Daynes aged 32 years or

              thereabouts Sworn in Open Court the 23d Aprill 1652 Saith

                That he hath paid Doctor Waldron the Sd Nineteene hundd

              pounds of ‘Tobacco and Caske, which Said Sume I this Dept

              and Mr Wm Daynes my brother had formerly given Order unto

              Mr Henry Counsey our Attorney to pay, Since which time I this

              Depont have paid the Said Tobacco to the Said Waldron in

              the hands of Esq Ludlo, and further this Depont Saith not:

        

                The Deposition of Mr ffrancis Brooke aged 38 years or

              thereabouts Sworn in Open Court Saith

                That ‘Thomas Medwell desired him he being goeing along

              with Mr Land to New town to Speak to Mr John Wade

              Chirurgeon to take that title of a Servant from him the Said

              Medweil, which this Depont Meeting with the Sd Mr Wade at

              at the house of Lieut Evans's, did the Sd Medwells message,
