Honrd Sr
Yore signed by your honr and the honble Coll Lee and Coll
Allerton of the 22nd instant directed to his honr the president
with the severall Informacons came this day to hand for which
doe returne our hearty thanks assuring your honr that it shall
be alwayes our care to preserve and mainteyne an Admirable
correspondence with that Government. As to the Informacon
of Mr Burr Harris Ralph Plott and John West bearing date
the 16th day of this month who say they are ready to take their
oathes that they did hear the Indians declare those words as
also those other relacons of Mr Burr Harris and Mr Thomas
Thomson bearing date the 19th instant unto all which wee
thought wee could not give yor honr a more satisfactory
answer then by sending herewith the true Coppy of all pas-
sages and proceedings that have passed here upon the late
noisy Indian afair In the first place your honr will find the
Deposicon of one John Atkey who sweares that he did hear
Fyffe say that he did heare Sharpe say that he did heare the
Easterne shoare Indians when they were drunke say that they
were hired by Coll Darnall to fight against the English but
being asked when they were sober they would not say any
such thing unto which is annexed the Deposicon of Fyffe as
also of what Coll Jowles says he will sweare and next unto
these your honr will find the coppy of a paper brought into this
province from Virginia bearing date the 15th instant which is
earlier by a day than the first of the informacon received from
yr Honr as aforesaid many Coppies whereof by the Industry
of some where imediately dispersed among the people of this
province which being seconded with Rumours of all shapes
and Colours soe alarmed the people of Charles and Calvert
