64 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1687/8-89.

Liber B.
P. R. O.

That if money be made currant as it is proposed That it will
infinitely redound to your Lordsp advantage and in a little
time even Increase the duty of 2s per hhd for the Encourage-
ment thereby to shipping will induce them abundantly to trade
into Maryland rather than to Virga Besides as money becomes
plenty people and labour will Encrease and the Export of To-

will find the breife Corresponds to the coppies sent yor Lordsp of
such accounts as were passed in this assembly amongst which
there's one for an Anniversary day of thanksgiving forever for
the birth of the prince which we hope will be acceptably taken
as the intent was dutifull and loyall your Lordsp will herewith
also receive two private addresses to which we thought fit to
put a stop wee doe not meane to Addressing or hindering
any from soe doeing but because the same were obteyned at
the request of other separate and private interests and de-
