said Northern Indians imbrued their hands in so much Prot-
estant Blood in New England and since so near us but three
Years ago in Skennelicot twenty Miles above Albany which if
so your Excellency may suppose their designe to be evil and
our condition deplorable if not timely prevented by putting a
stop to their further incursions all which I leave to your
Excellencys Wisdom in the management of so great an Affair
and altho the hard censures & calumniations of some ill
affected Persons may and are endeavouring to bring me in
dis-Esteem with your Excellency yet I shall acquisce in this
being supported (I hope) within with the Truth and inno-
cency of a good Conscience and as I have hitherto approved
my self faithful to their Royal Majestys Interest here I hope
to Continue the same to your Excellency as being under them
our Supreeme and always Remain

1692 I came from the Indian Cabbin I informed Captain Iames
& Mr Tilton that I saw the Wife of Monsr Casteene and those
Indians that I saw are Northern Indians that came from
Penobscott this done by the Request of Captain Iames and
Mr Tilton as witness my hand
