hath been formerly allowed Six thousand and odd pounds of
Tobacco and now they had further allowed him one. thousand
pounds of Tobacco more which they conceived was a com-
petent and sufficient Sallary
Recommended also to them an Accot exibited p Mr Iohn
Hall Sheriff of Baltemore County which they had Referred to
the Consideration of the next Assembly they are desired to
take the same now into their Care, being of publick con-
cernment and ought to be duly dischargd Iacob Young the
Indian Interpreter having been severall times employed for
the Country and publick Service and been at severall charges
and Expences therein he is also recommended to their consid-
eration for a suitable allowance all which they are desired to
consult of, and all other things before them and to make
report of their proceedings to this Board when Perfected
Edward Felks charged and accused for having a hand or
being concern'd in the intercepting and making away with a
publick packett directed to this Government for their Majestys
Service being called in and examin'd thereupon having little
to urge in his own Defence more then his own innocency
alledged, it is thought fit by his Excllcy and this Board that he
be thereof acquitted and discharged upon the Accot of his
Maiestys happy Success and late Victory against the French

Mr Iohn Lillingston accused for a late tumultuous Riot and
meeting at Talbot County Court House is also called in and
thereof acquitted and discharged upon the accot aforesaid with
caution given him for his good and more orderly Behaviour
for the future, and to encourage him heartily to joyn with the
rest of their Majestys Subjects in Solemnization of the thanks-
giving day appointed
Thomas Thurston late principal Military Officer in Balte-
more County against whom severall complaints have been
lately made for unruly and disorderly actions and behaviour
in his place towards the Inhabitants of the County &ca is also
called in and thereof acquitted and discharged and from his
further attendance at this Board, but the publick ammunition in
his hands he is ordered and required to deliver quickly into the
hands and possession of the chief Military Officer now there
appointed according to Proclamation
Proposed the appointing a certain standing number of fixt
Rangers upon the Frontier parts of the Country, to be in con-
stant Service and their pay ascertained
Ordered that Six Men with two Officers be appointed in the
most considerable and exposed Places on the Frontiers vizt
Captn Richd Brightwell with six men under his command well
armed & provided to range from the head & Branches of
Pottomuck to the branches of Pottuxent one other with six
