Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1692-1694. 333

The said Frisby in further Demonstration of his Rancour
and Malice and uneasy under the Government for the Reasons
aforesaid hath now removed himself and Family out of this
Province, and embarked with his Relations and Corres-
pondents in Malignancy Peregrine and John Brown Masters
of two London Ships bound hence for England, who have
almost in most absurd manner behaved themselves con-
temptuously and disrespectfully to the Government most
impudently bespattering abusing and defaming as much as in
them lies the Governor himself and all in Authority under
him, endeavouring by their most notorious false Reports Lyes
and Suggestions to stir up the People of this Province to a
thro Dislike of the Government, and divert disswade and
alienate them from their due and natural Obedience thereunto,
having publickly and openly vaunted and bragged of their
Contempt to the Governmt saying they valued it not (in most
scurrilous terms) they would go away without clearing and
pay no Duties, unless they could see your Majesties immed-
iate positive Orders commanding them so to do; owning no
other Authority here, and We doubt not they would accord-
ingly have done had they not had some Awe from your
Majesties Men of War in these Parts
The restless Endeavours of such Persons are so visible to
Us, as to the whole World besides, that gives Us Caution to
address your Majesties in this behalf humbly praying that no
Attemptations suggestions ©r Representations of theirs or any
other of your Majesties Enemies may have Opportunity to
effect their damnable and wicked Designs, but that all due
Caution Care and Circumspection may be had & made Use
of for the Discovery and Detection of their Conspiracies and
Contrivancies against your Majesties and this your Govern-
ment, as in your Royal and Princely Wisdoms You shall see fit
From such and all other your Enemies God preserve your
Majesties, prosper and conduct You throughout the whole
Course of your Lives, send you a long and happy Reign over
Us, and at last a Crown of Glory do sincerely pray
Your Majesties
most dutiful humble loyal Subjects and servants
