Was then preferred and brought from the house of Bur-
gesses in Assembly sitting the following Petition and Recom-
mendation thereof from that house Vizt

To His Excellency Lionell Copley Esqe Captn General and
Chief Governor of his Majestys Province of Maryland and
the honourable Assembly now sitting
The humble Petition of Matthias Vanderheyden of Cecil
County Humbly Sheweth
That whereas Mr Augustin Herman late of Cecil County
deceased by his last Will and Testament did by Entailment
bequeath diverse large and very considerable Tracts of Land
to his several and respective Children and their Posterities,
which said Will of Entailment was tiled and recorded in the
Commissarys Office, as by some Part of the said Record still
remaining may appear but by the fraudulent Contrivance of
some wicked Persons the said Will of Entailment is stolen
away and conveyed out of the sd Office and likewise the most
Part of it is torn out of the Book wherein it was recorded
Now so it is that Your Petitioner having married the eldest
Daughter of the said Mr Augustin Herman, unto whom was
bequeathed a considerable Tract of Land by the said Will, as
also the Reversion of the rest of Tracts in the said Will speci-
fyed, is like to be utterly deprived thereof unless your Excel-
lency and the honourable Assembly will be pleased to grant
him some Relief as to your Prudence shall seem meet
